Not my favorite birds but they serve their purpose. I think I'm always disappointed when I think I see a large hawk flying and it's just a turkey vulture :( This is a great photo, though.
I thought they were hawks when I first spent the winter here but knowing that they aren't hasn't diminished my enjoyment of them. They fly really high sometimes. I love looking at them back lit. I think they're the Florida state bird, or maybe it's the pelican.

Another excellent photo. I watched (and tried to photgraph) about a dozen Turkey Vultures last night before sunset. No good pix, tho.
