We don't see many Grebes, but I snapped a single one a few years back just up the road from our house on a stretch of the roman dyke where it widens just before a bridge. I watched him dive for a while, till the dog got restless with me standing still! That was when we had the lovely Jim.
I will tell you what I will do and what I will not do. I will not serve that in which I no longer believe, whether it call itself my home, my fatherland, or my church: and I will try to express myself in some mode of life or art as freely as I can and as wholly as I can, using for my defence the only arms I allow myself to use - silence, exile, and cunning.

I haven't been seeing many shorebirds lately. Not sure where they've all gone. It's so nice to see these three.
