That is a magnificent bird, dawn. What a beautiful photograph. I saw my first Black-headed Grosbeak of the season yesterday. Probably just passing through. The ones that stay must be on their way.

Gorgeous bird and great photo! I was thrilled to see our first (a newcomer to our feeders) male red-breasted grosbeak and his mate yesterday!! Isn't is wonderful to find so much joy in simple things like the beauty of spring?

Thank you Robin! Our first Black headed Grosbeak arrived 3 days ago. He and his wife are here to stay, eating their weight in seed daily.

That's a very pretty bird, Dawn! And I don't know how you get such wonderful photos - do you sit for hours at the window, hunched over a hot camera?
