After being hit hard with West Nile Virus here in the Ohio Valley, our crows are just beginning to return. I may feel differently if there were hundreds around but right now I enjoy seeing them blackening the sky with their large bodies, and enjoy hearing their cawing to their neighbors.
I will tell you what I will do and what I will not do. I will not serve that in which I no longer believe, whether it call itself my home, my fatherland, or my church: and I will try to express myself in some mode of life or art as freely as I can and as wholly as I can, using for my defence the only arms I allow myself to use - silence, exile, and cunning.

That's so interesting, dawn. Crows really are incredibly smart.
Isn't it great, a small bird brain is so intelligent. You have to admire the corvid family, they are simply amazing!
