The first butterfly of the year for me! These hardy butterflies will produce one brood in the late spring/summer and they will live until the next spring to try to reproduce, then die. Can you see the notch out of one wing, its a hard life for a butterfly.

Sad about the wings but such is life.
Oh FJ you have so many more butterflies in CA then we do. I envy you that.
