Am glad to see this significant nest building. My two robins who nested each spring atop my front porch post were killed simultaneously by a passing car. Two other robins chose an unprotected spot with disastrous results in a recent strong wind. I've been concentrating on all the successful nests I cannot see. Thanks for the reminder.

Suzanne's story is so sad. It's amazing the tenacity that birds have while nesting. I have an image in my head of a mourning dove nesting in a tree close to my window in a lightening storm. I can still see how the flashes illuminated her as she stoically sat there. So touching.
Really great timing, an incredible work of art (compliments to both the builder and the historian) :)
