What a beauty. Great photo, dawn. We saw them here in California last winter; one was bathing in the neighbor's birdbath. I haven't seen one this year yet. I keep waiting.

we get them off and on in the winter. Always in the spring and summer. Can you believe the alder is sprouting already?
