I love love love Ruby-crowned Kinglets. Such pretty little flitting things. Great shot, dawn, I know how quickly they move.
What Ms. Beard writes is for certain. And the Kinglet is a magnificent morsel of a creature. That you are able to bring us these photos of such a variety of flora and fauna and vistas on a daily basis is really quite remarkable. Not to mention the thoughtful and meaningful quotes. Many thanks.

The ruby "crown" almost looks like a spotlight. I don't see them very often. Will have to look more closely when I walk in the woods. This little one makes me think of Reepicheep from the Narnia books. Beautiful photo!
