That is a magnificent bird, dawn. What a beautiful photograph. I saw my first Black-headed Grosbeak of the season yesterday. Probably just passing through. The ones that stay must be on their way.

Thank you Robin! Our first Black headed Grosbeak arrived 3 days ago. He and his wife are here to stay, eating their weight in seed daily.

Lucky You to have these beautiful birds! These are the coolest birds. We have rosy breasted ones that stop here and mate.

Thank you Suzanne and Sandy. I love these birds, we have over 50 of them in the winter and just about 10 or so in the summer, they make the biggest racket.

Gorgeous bird and great photo! I was thrilled to see our first (a newcomer to our feeders) male red-breasted grosbeak and his mate yesterday!! Isn't is wonderful to find so much joy in simple things like the beauty of spring?

That's a very pretty bird, Dawn! And I don't know how you get such wonderful photos - do you sit for hours at the window, hunched over a hot camera?

Keep doing whatever it is, anyway!
